    Chiropractic Care

Many patients with cancer and mesothelioma turn to chiropractic care in order to help control pain, relieve headaches and reduce tension and stress. The Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics published two studies that examined cases of patients fighting cancer.  A 57 year old man diagnosed with incurable pancreatic cancer was able to reduce the amount of medication needed  following chiropractic care and he experienced considerable pain relief.  A 54 year old man diagnosed with lung cancer( a cancer often related to asbestos exposure) began seeing a chiropractor after surgery because he was unable to relieve pain through conventional means.  He experienced pain relief immediately after beginning chiropractic care and ceased using pain medication after two visits.  The journal noted,"These clinical examples offer two specific instances of how chiropractic care may improve the quality of the cancer patient's life."

    About, austin, Austin TX

My girlfriend and I went to Port Aransas last weekend for the beach clean up.  Several of my patients were there also. The weather was fabulous and there was a Christian Concert in the middle of town all weekend so you could hear live music all day Saturday.  Southern Living magazine decorated an idea house and I toured it.  Wow, it was amazing and is already sold for 2.7 million.  Next weekend is the 45th anniversary mustang club rally.  My husband owns a 57 Thunderbird so we attend many car shows.  This one sounds like it's going to be great.  There is also a chili cook off and a music festival in Port A. also so you can hear great music  if you aren't already staying in Austin for the ACL  Fest.  If you go to Post Aransas, check out the Port Aransas Brewing Company.  I don't love beer, but they serve one with an orange slice I actually like.  They were written up in Texas Monthly for their hamburgers.  We had beer battered shrimp and sweet potato fries which were great.  They are located at 429 Alister Street. I always search for chiropractors when I'm out of town.  I didn't find one in Port A. but I know Dr. Steve Canion in Corpus Cristi and he's great.

The Pecan Street Festival is this weekend.  We are so lucky to have such great artists in our area.  If you haven't been make sure to go.  It's a great place to watch people, sample food and listen to music.  I have two glass sculptures in my office I purchased there and people always ask me where I got them.  I also bought the handmade sandals.  They are worth the wait in line.  They actually form to your feet and create an orthotic.  This is a similar idea to Mephisto brand shoes which are the only sandals I wear.  We make custom orthotics in our office.  We have custom shoes and sandals that are embedded with your orthotic.  I love my tennis shoes and sandals which have the orthotic built in.  Many people suffer from plantar fascitis which is inflammation of the fascia that covers the bottom of your foot.  We adjust feet and prescribe orthotics.  It is difficult to walk for too long when your feet hurt.  Boswellia is a natural anti-inflammatory that works better than ibuprofen.  I recommend taking that before walking the festival.  Take lots of breaks.  Some people even carry chairs so they can sit when needed.  Enjoy the weekend and check out the great art.

There are many great supplements to help keep you well during flu season.  A whole lime or lemon a day is the best  way to protect your immune system.  Two emergenC packets a day in the winter and three in the summer along with at least half your weight in ounces of water  is basic maintenance.  A good multivitamin such as Catalyn from Standard Process is essential.  Immucore will help at the first signs of symptoms.  Limit all milk products and increase your fruits and vegetables.  Zinc is a natural antibacterial.  Agricept is grapefruit extract and is a natural antiviral and antibacterial.  A couple of drops in water will kill candida and will protect you from food poisoning and the flu.  We do a technique called Contact Reflex Analysis in our office that is simular to Applied Kinesiology.  This technique is a method of testing which supplements will work best for you.  We do this as an adjunct to adjusting for our patients.  We have too many supplements to list.  You are welcome to come in and get tested. Just print out our coupon on our map page or bring your insurance card.

    Chiropractic Care

Yesterday I  treated an eighty-six year old woman who had been suffering from severe headaches since a car accident one year ago.  She said she had bleeding on the brain from the accident and she thought she would have to live with headaches from then on.  After an exam and xrays, I noticed her skull  was  misaligned.  I adjusted her that day.  She returned the following day and said she felt 50% better.  She said her chiropractor back home refused to adjust her because of arthritis in her neck.  I adjusted her again and she had to return home.  Her daughter in law said she had great relief and was going to find a different chiropractor to adjust her in Michigan.  Our office treats many medicare patients.  Most headaches are caused from pinched nerves in the neck from trauma, stress, poor nutrition and little exercise.

  • Heroes Weekend at Camp Mabry in Austin, Texas

    Austin TX, Chiropractic Care

Last weekend my husband and I went to the Heroes Weekend at Camp Mabry.  We saw a World War II reenactment.  It must have been so scary to be on those battlefields.  My husband served in Vietnam as a pilot and recently heard from one of his army buddies.  I treat a Marine  who also served in Vietnam.  He needs weekly care from wounds he received as a paratrooper.  Chiropractic is now being prescribed by the Veteran's hospital but it takes months to get an appointment.  The mental trauma alone is a great reason to get chiropractic care because we hold emotions in our body and chiropractic helps heal psychological problems as well as physical.  Our office will work with anyone who has served or is serving our country to make it affordable to receive care.  Austin is a great place to live because it is so diverse.  When I left Camp Mabry I felt  secure in knowing we have the National Guard ready to help us if need arrives. Thank you so much for your service!
