    Austin TX, Chiropractic Care

Last weekend my husband and I went to the Heroes Weekend at Camp Mabry.  We saw a World War II reenactment.  It must have been so scary to be on those battlefields.  My husband served in Vietnam as a pilot and recently heard from one of his army buddies.  I treat a Marine  who also served in Vietnam.  He needs weekly care from wounds he received as a paratrooper.  Chiropractic is now being prescribed by the Veteran's hospital but it takes months to get an appointment.  The mental trauma alone is a great reason to get chiropractic care because we hold emotions in our body and chiropractic helps heal psychological problems as well as physical.  Our office will work with anyone who has served or is serving our country to make it affordable to receive care.  Austin is a great place to live because it is so diverse.  When I left Camp Mabry I felt  secure in knowing we have the National Guard ready to help us if need arrives. Thank you so much for your service!

    Chiropractic Care

The best way to learn about chiropractic is to try it. Many people have been involved in a car accident some time ago and never received treatment.  Often when they come to see me months later they are surprised to learn that their pain is most likely related to the trauma from their accident.  It is very important to get checked out by a chiropractor after any falls or accidents. Pain is not a good indicator that something is wrong.  The body uses pain as a warning signal but like any warning device the body will find someway to cope or it will send you to the emergency room.  Most people think if they can walk and take pain killers then the problem will eventually go away.  This is dangerous.  The body will adapt by turning off information to certain areas and making other areas adapt to do their job. This is how we form trigger points that eventually can turn into fibromyalgia.  The body will also add bone to weakened joints causing osteoarthritis. Our posture also changes which eventually leads to more pain.  Being in an accident even if it is minor is like driving on unbalanced tires.  I didn't know I was supposed to rotate my tires every 6000 miles and recently I had to replace them sooner than normal.  You can't replace your spine.

    About

Welcome to the Moore Chiropractic blog.  I am Dr. Michele Moore and I am available for questions.  Many people do not understand that chiropractic care heals more that muscles and bones.  It heals the nervous system which controls how long and how well we will live.  I see chiropractic as the best life extention available.  In this blog I will concentrate on the lives I see change in my office. I want to discuss the different illnesses that we encounter and how we handle them with chiropractic, exercise and nutrition.  There are vast nutritional remedies that can better handle most illnesses than medication without the side effects.  I also want to cover why we refer to other professionals and what they can do to help me co-manage cases.  There are energetic therapies like bodytalk which address the emotional aspects we encounter.  I have a wonderful staff with many different specialities.  They will also contribute.  I look forward to hearing from you.  Dr. Moore
